ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - St. Louis CITY SC will play in two of the 10 MLS must-watch matches in 2025, the league announced Thursday.
The first will be against newcomers San Diego FC on Matchday 2. San Diego selected Hosei Kijima in this year’s expansion draft as one of its five picks. The two clubs reside in cities with rich soccer history and are the youngest members of the league.
Kick-off is set for 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 1.
The second must-watch match will be played later in the year during Matchday 13. St. Louis will face rivals Sporting Kansas City for the 10th time in MLS history. The two will also face off earlier in the season in KC.
The overall series between them, including cup playoff matches, is tied 3-3. In the regular season series, St. Louis is 3-2-1 against its cross-Missouri rival, with a 16-8 goal advantage.
