Butler’s 2 TD’s help Battlehawks triumph over Michigan Panthers 32-27

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The St. Louis Battlehawks came out with a win against the Michigan Panthers 32-27 Saturday night.

The Battlehawks were off to a slow start, scoring only 3 points in the first quarter. The defense had put on a show, with safety Lukas Denis recording his second sack of the season in the second quarter.

Quarterback Max Duggan ran the ball in for two touchdowns, giving the Battlehawks a 17-6 lead at the end of the half. The former Texas Christian University quarterback is now tied with Manny Wilkins for the most rushing touchdowns by a Battlehawks quarterback in a single game.

The Michigan Panthers responded with their own touchdown to start the second half. Battlehawks kicker Rodrigo Blankenship made his second field goal of the game to give his team a 20-14 lead.

The Panthers took the lead in the fourth quarter, but Duggan responded with a 67-yard bomb to Battlehawks receiver Hakeem Butler to keep them in the game. Hakeem had another receiving touchdown on a reverse play to give the Battlehawks the lead.

Duggan ended the night with 124 passing yards with two touchdowns, and 70 rushing yards with two touchdowns. Butler finished with 124 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

The Battlehawks will host the Arlington Renegades on Friday, May 2, at 7 p.m. at The Dome.
