ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - Saint Louis University is moving on to the NCAA Quarterfinals after prevailing in a penalty-kick shootout following a 2-2 draw against Bryant in the third round of the NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship Sunday night.
After an early goal from a corner kick by SLU defender Quinten Blair, Bryant scored twice to take a 2-1 advantage into halftime.
Blair leveled the match with a penalty kick in the 56th minute, and both teams were scoreless for the rest of regular time.
Following two overtime sessions, the two sides entered a penalty-kick shootout.
Both Blair and freshman midfielder Jack DiMaria converted the Billikens’ first two shots, which were matched by Bryant.
