ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - With men’s hockey set to begin soon for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games, one St. Louisan is getting ready to represent his hometown on the ice.

Nick Saracino, a graduate of Christian Brothers College High School (CBC), is going to suit up for Italy.

With a grandfather born in Italy, Saracino obtained citizenship and has been playing there for four years now.

But his road to professional hockey started in St. Louis.

Matrix Midwest’s Tamar Sher spoke with Saracino as he prepares to take the ice for Gli Azzurri (The Blues) on the largest international stage.
