ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - St. Louis CITY SC has signed Timo Baumgartl, a center back with experience in European leagues, to the team through 2026 with a club option in 2027.
“Timo and his vast European experience will be a key piece to our team next year,” Sporting Director Lutz Pfannenstiel said in a press release. “Not only does Timo bring on-field experience, but he also has the leadership character trait that will be an asset to the locker room.”

The 28-year-old German will hold one of CITY’s international roster spots and has hopes to strengthen a backline that has seen strife with an injured Joakim Nilsson and the trade of Tim Parker.
The 2025 MLS season starts in February.
