ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - St. Louis CITY SC midfielder Eduard Löwen has been fined by Major League Soccer’s Disciplinary Committee after receiving a red card in the club’s match against Philadelphia Union on March 22.

According to MLS, Löwen was fined an undisclosed amount for “failing to leave the field in a timely manner” after receiving his second yellow card of the match in the 67th minute.

Löwen received his first booking in minute 55 and was issued a second after kicking the ball away following a foul called on midfielder Chris Durkin.

St. Louis lost the match 1-0.

This was Löwen’s first red card since joining MLS in 2022. Given that red cards carry automatic suspensions, the team will be without its No. 10 for the upcoming match against Austin FC on March 30.
