ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - St. Louis CITY SC announced it has acquired winger Xande Silva in a trade with Atlanta United.
In exchange for Silva, Atlanta will receive a guaranteed $100,000 in 2025 GAM, and up to $150,000 in 2026 GAM based on incentives.
The move was made before the close of Major League Soccer’s Primary Transfer Window on Wednesday. Silva will take up CITY SC’s final international roster slot, and St. Louis will be responsible for paying his 2025 $604,250 pro-rated salary this year. As part of the deal, Atlanta United will keep his Special Discovery tag, meaning it will have to pay the remainder of his previous amortized transfer fee.
The Portuguese winger joined Atlanta United during the 2023 summer transfer window and went on to make 27 starts over 40 MLS appearances. During his tenure with Atlanta, he scored four goals and added seven assists.
“Xande is a player who brings versatility and speed to our attack and is very dangerous in 1v1 situations,” said Lutz Pfannenstiel, CITY SC Sporting Director. “He’s competed at a high level in multiple countries, including in France, Portugal, England and in MLS, and we believe his skill set fits with the way we want to play. We’re excited to have him here and look forward to what he’ll bring to the group.”
