ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - As expected, the Cardinals are trading closer Ryan Helsley.
The Redbirds are sending Hellsley to the Mets. In return, the Cardinals are receiving shortstop Jesus Baez, and two pitchers, Nate Dohm and Frank Elissalt.

The move was expected, as Hellsley is a pending free agent at the end of the season. In 2025, Helsley has a 3-1 record with 3.00 ERA and 21 saves. He led the majors with 49 saves in 2024.
