Mizzou freshman softball player named to Canada’s National Team

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Mizzou softball freshman infielder Avery Porter was named to the Canadian Softball U18 National Team on Tuesday.

The young Tiger will travel with the team to compete in the 2025 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U18 Women’s World Cup from Sept. 27 to Oct. 2 in Oklahoma City, Ok.

This is Porter’s second year with the national team. She contributed to the U18’s second place finish, behind the USA team, and secured a berth for the 2025 World Cup Finals.

Porter is originally from Katy, Tx. She was the No. 21 player in the Southwest Region and the No. 94th overall player in the class of 2025.
