ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The CBC Cadets beat Sacred Heart-Griffin 63-20 on the road Friday night.
Vick Williams sets the tone with two explosive plays that led to the Cadets’ first touchdown of the game.
Nick McClellan throws it downfield to connect with Darion Jones to extend the lead to 14-0.
Defense caused a sack that led to an interception made by defensive lineman Joe Copp to turn the ball over. Running back Courtney Rivers capitalized with a 4-yard touchdown.
Sacred Heart-Griffin responded with an 85-yard screen pass that resulted in a touchdown.

Williams rumbles into the end zone to give the Cadets a 28-7 lead at the start of the second quarter.
The Cadets’ defense continues to dominate with an interception made by Corde Gage. A few plays later, McClellan takes off for a 69-yard touchdown.
With 1:21 left in the 2nd quarter, McClellan finds Gage on a slant route to extend the lead.
Sacred Heart-Griffin opened up the second half with a 70-yard touchdown pass. Rivers set up the offense with great field position after a great run. McClellan then connected to Gage on a 25-yard corner pass that led to a touchdown.
Sacred Heart-Griffin responded with a pass of their own to make the lead 45-20. Williams continued to show his dominance in the run game, walking in to extend the Cadets’ lead.

The Cadets continued to extend their lead all the way into the fourth quarter. McCllelan and Williams finished the night with three touchdowns each. Gage finished with two touchdowns and an interception on defense.
The Cadets will face Cardinal Ritter at home on Friday, Sept. 5th.
