CBC started the game with a touchdown on its first drive after making a defensive stop. Vic Williams took a short hand-off up the middle for a 7-0 lead.

This ended up being the only score of the quarter, as Lafayette took its next drive into the second quarter.
Following multiple third-down conversions, the Lancers got the ball to the Cadets’ 1-yard line, where they punched it in to tie the game at 7-7.
Lafayette scored again several minutes later after forcing a fumble and taking it back nearly 80 yards to make it 13-7.
But the Cadets responded quickly. After a long run by Nick McClellan to get the Cadets inside the Lafayette 5-yard line, Vic Williams took another hand-off into the endzone, making it 14-13.
It was clear both teams had found their rhythm after the first quarter, as Lafayette took the ball down the field once more and scored a passing touchdown, making it 20-14.

And nobody was feeling that rhythm more than Vic Williams. The CBC running back scored his third touchdown of the first half, tying the game up after taking a kickoff the length of the field for a touchdown.
Lafayette wasn’t fazed, however, as the Lancers followed Williams’ kickoff return with one of their own, giving them back the lead.
CBC was able to find the endzone soon after. Nick McClellan took a short run from the left side into the endzone to tie the game at 27-27 as time wound down in the second quarter.
With just over two minutes left before the halftime whistle, Lafayette took back the lead with a rushing touchdown.
However, with seconds remaining, Nick McClellan scored to tie the game again, making it 34-34 at the half.
CBC was quick to take the lead in the second half. Nick McClellan was able to find Corde Gage in the endzone on the Cadets’ first drive, giving them a 41-34 advantage.
Vic Williams followed it up with another touchdown to extend the lead to 48-34, marking his fourth touchdown of the game.
The Lancers later responded with a score, but their PAT was blocked, allowing CBC to maintain an eight-point lead.
With time running down in the third quarter, Courtney Rivers then scored his first touchdown of the game, coming in the form of a 32-yard run.
The fourth quarter picked up right where the third left off. Lafayette was able to score a touchdown and two-point conversion to bring the game to a single digit lead.

Corde Gage then returned the ensuing kickoff for his second touchdown of the game, giving CBC a 62-48 lead.
With seven minutes left in the game, the Lancers scored another touchdown and, once again, converted on the two-point try, reducing the lead to 62-56.
But, Nick McClellan was able to use his legs to find the endzone for the third time. And, with the help of a two-point conversion pass to Jayden Reed, the Cadets took a 70-56 lead with little time left in the game.
On the following drive, the Lancers turned the ball over, and Vic Williams scored a fifth time, making it 77-56.
At this point, Lafayette was unable to overcome the deficit (despite a late touchdown drive) and the Cadets came out victorious as the Class 6 District 2 Champions.
