ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - Mizzou sophomore running back Ahmad Hardy has been named a finalist for the 2025 Doak Walker National Running Back Award, the PwC Athletic Forum announced on Tuesday.
Hardy is one of three finalists for the award, which is given to the nation’s top running back.
The other finalists are Notre Dame’s Jeremiyah Love and Ole Miss’ Kewan Lacy.
Hardy is currently the NCAA’s second leading rusher with over 1,400 yards, averaging 6.6 yards per carry. He has also amassed 15 rushing touchdowns, which is the fourth-most in the nation.
He is the third Mizzou runningback to be named a finalst for the award, and is fifth for Mizzou’s single-season rushing list - 225 yards from breaking Cody Schrader’s all-time mark of 1,627 set in 2023.
The winner of the 2025 Doak Walker Award will be announced on Friday, December 12.
