ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville Cougars fall to Western Michigan 83-73 Saturday afternoon.
The first half was a slow start to the Cougars. Western Michigan maintained a double digit lead for four minutes of the first half.
SIUE seniors Ring Malith and Myles Thompson leads the Cougars with seven total points.
During the second half, the Cougars gained momentum, with Darrion Baker and Malith taking charge. The Cougars attempted to tie the game with three minutes left of the game, but they fell short. The defense fought hard, committing 19 turnovers throughout the game.
Malith finished the game with 20 points, two rebounds, and two assists. Thompson finished the night with 13 points and five rebounds.
The Cougars will face off against Eureka at home on Sunday, December 14th at 1 p.m.
