ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - Former Mizzou quarterback Brady Cook received a special, customized pair of cleats that were designed by two of his biggest fans at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
The cleats were designed by 10-year-old Cally from Fenton, MO, and 8-year-old Raelle from Mattoon, IL.
Both girls are oncology patients at St. Louis Children’s.
In addition to being athletes themselves, they each participate in art therapy, which utilizes the creative process of art making to improve and enhance physical, mental, and emotional well-being during treatment.
Cook, who is coming off his first NFL start for the New York Jets, chose to support St. Louis Children’s Hospital as part of the NFL’s My Cause My Cleats program, where players, coaches and staff wear custom-designed cleats to spotlight the causes and nonprofits they care about most.
Cook will wear the cleats over the summer, and then they will be auctioned off to support St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
