(Gray News) - John Harbaugh is out as the Baltimore Ravens head coach after 18 seasons, according to multiple reports.
Harbaugh was fired on Tuesday, according to NFL.com
The announcement comes just days after the Ravens lost their chance to reach the playoffs with a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night.

Harbaugh had just signed a three-year deal nearly nine months ago and was under contract through the 2028 season.
The Ravens hired Harbaugh in 2008. In replacing Brian Billick, Harbaugh changed the culture and turned the Ravens into a perennial Super Bowl contender again.

He became the only coach in NFL history to win a playoff game in each of his first five seasons, ESPN reported.
In 2013, the Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII.
He is also the only coach to guide a team to the AFC Championship game three times in his first five years.
Harbaugh leaves as the longest-tenured coach in Baltimore sports history and is one of eight coaches in NFL history to record 300 games with a single team.
