ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - Ole Miss quarterback Austin Simmons signed with Mizzou Tuesday, per reports.

The Florida-native was the Rebels’ starter heading into the 2025 season, but suffered an ankle injury in their Week 2 matchup with Kentucky, paving the way for current breakout starter Trinidad Chambliss.

In two starts this season, Simmons completed 33 for 55 passes for 576 yards, three touchdowns and rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown.

In 2024, as a red-shirt freshman, he served as current New York Giants quarterback Jaxon Dart’s backup, throwing for 282 yards and a touchdown in seven games played.

Simmons’ spot at Mizzou opened up after it was announced that quarterback Beau Pribula entered the transfer portal.
