ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - Today, the St. Louis Cardinals announced they have acquired right-handed pitcher George Soriano in a trade with the Washington Nationals in exchange for right-handed pitcher Andre Granillo.
Soriano, 26, appeared in 72 games over the past three Major League seasons.
He made one start and one scoreless postseason appearance in the 2024 Wild Card round against the Phillies.
He was originally signed as an international free agent by the Miami Marlins in 2015 out of the Dominican Republic, and was on the Marlins Opening Day roster each of the past two seasons.
In total, he has compiled a 3-1 record with a 5.95 ERA, striking out 117 batters over 118 innings in his Major League career.

Granillo made 14 appearances for St. Louis in 2025, posting a 1-0 record, one save and 4.71 ERA.
The Cardinals say Soriano will report to spring training camp.
