ATLANTA (ANF/Gray News) - A two-time WNBA champion was killed in a crash in Atlanta, according to authorities. She was 43.

On Saturday, Kara Braxton died in a car crash, around 5:15 p.m., when she failed to maintain her lane on the interstate and hit the concrete median.

“It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of 2x WNBA Champion Kara Braxton,” the WNBA said in a social media post.

Braxton played 10 seasons in the WNBA. She played with the Detroit Shock, Tulsa Shock, Phoenix Mercury and New York Liberty.

She also played at the University of Georgia from 2002 to 2004.

The crash remains under investigation.
