ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The St. Louis Blues ended the NHL trade deadline in a flurry Friday afternoon, making a last-minute deal to send defensemen Justin Faulk to the Detroit Red Wings.
Faulk had been with St. Louis since the 2019-20 season, coming to the Blues via a trade with the Carolina Hurricanes, just a couple of weeks before the season started.
The Blues announced they will get a 1st and 3rd round pick, as well as Dmitri Buchelnikov and Justin Holl. Holl is a 34-year-old defenseman. Buchelnikov, 22, was a 2nd round pick in 2022. He was currently unassigned by Detroit, playing this season in the KHL in Russia.
The Faulk move comes just a short time after it was announced the Blues were trading captain Brayden Schenn to the New York Islanders.
The Blues are getting back a 1st and 3rd round pick for Schenn. The team is also getting forward Johnathan Drouin as part of the package, and 20-year-old goaltender Marcus Gidlof.

The moves come amid a tumultuous deadline for the Blues, with the team and multiple of its players being at the top of many trade rumors across the league.
Earlier this week, longtime defenseman Colton Parayko utilized his full no-trade clause to waive a trade to the Buffalo Sabers.
Despite numerous talks and rumors, the Blues hold on to forwards Robert Thomas, Jordan Kyrou and Pius Suter, along with goalie Jordan Binnington.
