ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - March Madness is back in St. Louis for the first time since 2016, with thousands of visitors expected downtown for a busy weekend of NCAA Tournament action at Enterprise Center.

City leaders estimate the event will generate more than $10 million in economic impact, as several marquee programs take the court, including Kentucky, Iowa State, Purdue and Missouri.

First-round games tip off in St. Louis on Friday, starting with Kentucky and Santa Clara at 11:15 a.m., followed by Iowa State and Tennessee State. The evening session begins at 6:35 p.m. with Purdue facing Queens, and Missouri taking on Miami in the final game of the night.

Winners will advance to second-round matchups on Sunday. Game times for those will be announced following Friday’s results.

This marks the 16th time St. Louis has hosted NCAA Tournament games, including three Final Four matchups.

Due to tournament coverage, some local newscasts will be adjusted. There will be no noon broadcast on Thursday, and the 10 p.m. newscast will air after the late game. A 9 p.m. streaming newscast will be available on the station’s digital platform.
