ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - St. Louis CITY SC will play USL Championship side FC Tulsa in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 32.

The tournament features 16 MLS clubs, nine USL Championship clubs, six USL League One clubs and one MLS NEXT Pro club.

Last year, CITY SC started off hot in the U.S. Open Cup with a 2-0 victory in the Round of 32 against Union Omaha.

St. Louis later fell 3-2 to Minnesota United in the Round of 16 thanks to a late goal by former CITY player Anthony Markanich.

“We are all in on the Open Cup,” Head Coach Yoann Damet said. “We know how important the Open Cup is for this club and for the city, given its longstanding history in St. Louis, and it’s a tournament we take seriously as a group. It’s a great opportunity for us to compete for silverware and continue building our identity in a tournament-style competition. FC Tulsa will be a good challenge, and our focus is on our preparation and making sure we represent the club, the fans, and the city with our performance.”
