INDIANAPOLIS (First Alert 4) - The Illinois men’s basketball team was preparing for the Final Four on Friday.
The Fighting Illini are in the Final Four for the first time in 21 years.
The last time was in 2005, when St. Louis served as the host. The Illini would go on to lose in the National Title Game to North Carolina that year.
Illinois is searching for its first-ever national title.
The 3-seeded Illini face a tough test, taking on the 2-seed Connecticut, which is coming off a miraculous last-second win over Duke in the Elite Eight.

Illinois defeated 14 Penn, 11 VCU, 2 Houston (in Houston) and fellow Big 10 foe 9 Iowa, on its way to Indianapolis.
The second National Semi-Final on Saturday matches up powerful 1 seeds Michigan and Arizona.
The winners of each game will face off Monday Night in the National Title Game that will tip at 7:50 p.m.
