Battlehawks handle Kings in Derby Classic

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - The St. Louis Battlehawks handed the Louisville Kings their fourth loss of the season in the Derby Classic.

St. Louis won 16-3 and held the Kings to just 166 total yards.

Gary Jennings took a touch pass into the endzone to give the Battlehawks a 9-3 lead going into the break.

In the second half, Harrison Frost found Steven McBride for an 11-yard touchdown. It was McBride’s second of the year.

St. Louis’ defense took over the rest of the half, forcing multiple turnovers and three-and-outs.

The Battlehawks will return to The Dome on Friday, May 8, to face the Columbus Aviators at 7 p.m.
