Jamison White staying close to home: SLU lands St. Louis-area standout Saint Louis University (SLU) men’s basketball is keeping a top local talent close to home

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - Saint Louis University (SLU) men’s basketball is keeping a top local talent close to home.

The Billikens announced they’ve signed Jamison White, a St. Louis native and four-star ESPN recruit, who will begin his college career in the 2026-27 season. ESPN ranks White as the No. 25 power forward in the country.

White spent three seasons at Chaminade College Preparatory School before transferring to East St. Louis High School for his senior year — and capped it with a championship run. He helped lead East St. Louis to the 2026 Illinois Class 3A state title, averaging nearly 20 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocks per game.

In the state championship game, White posted 19 points and 17 rebounds, earning state finals MVP honors. He also set East St. Louis single-season records with 694 points and 452 rebounds.

At Chaminade, White was a two-time team captain and guided the Red Devils to back-to-back state finals appearances and three straight district championships. After his junior season, he was named Class 6 District Player of the Year, averaging 14.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Over three seasons at Chaminade, he totaled 798 points, 540 rebounds, 138 assists, 72 steals and 84 blocks, earning two All-State selections and three All-Conference honors.

During his AAU career, White helped lift Bradley Beal Elite to back-to-back EYBL Peach Jam titles at both the 16U and 17U levels alongside his now Billiken teammate Sheek Pearson. Pearson skipped his senior season at John Burroughs School to play at Marquette. He then redshirted his freshman year before transferring to SLU this offseason.

Basketball runs in Jamo’s family: his father, Jahadi White spent seven seasons in the NBA.
