COLUMBIA, Mo. (KCTV) - Missouri star running back Ahmad Hardy is on the road to recovery after being shot in his leg while at a concert in Mississippi.
Hardy, who was preparing for his second season in Columbia, returned to campus last week after being hospitalized due to a shooting in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 10.
On Wednesday, he issued a video statement that was shared to the Missouri football program’s social media accounts.
“Hey everyone, I’m back in Columbia,” Hardy said in the video. “Starting the road to my rehab. I want to thank everybody for all the and all y’all’s prayers.
“Thank everybody for everything and I’m back to the road to success.”

Hardy was one of the nation’s best running backs as a sophomore, his first season with the Tigers following a transfer from Louisiana Monroe. He was Doak Walker Award finalist for the nation’s top running back and earned multiple national and SEC weekly honors.
He ran for 1,649 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2025.
Mizzou head coach Eli Drinkwitz said it remains to be seen when Hardy will return to football action.
