KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was back on the practice field Tuesday at 1 Arrowhead Drive for the first day of OTAs.
In a video shared by the Chiefs, Mahomes was seen dropping back to pass and throwing a ball. On a day where no media was allowed to view practice, it’s the only glimpse the Chiefs gave of their star quarterback as he continues his recovery from a torn ACL suffered on Dec. 14, 2025.
In an X post Tuesday afternoon, Mahomes reposted the video with his signature clock emoji response.

Mahomes and the Chiefs returned to practice Tuesday at the facility with the vast majority of the roster in attendance for the voluntary workouts. Wide receiver Rashee Rice was not among those in attendance as he serves a 30-day jail sentence for violating the terms of his probation last week.
Our first look at the Chiefs will come Thursday.
Mahomes will continue to rehab his surgically repaired left knee in hopes of a return for Week 1, when the Chiefs host the Denver Broncos on ‘Monday Night Football’ Sept. 14 at Arrowhead Stadium.
