St. Louisan Tim Ream named captain for USA World Cup squad

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) -Tim Ream from St. Louis was announced on Saturday to be the captain for the US Soccer Men’s National Team(USMNT) for the World Cup tournament.

Ream, 38, was made captain by Mauricio Pochettino, USMNT head coach.

A Saint Louis University graduate, Ream played youth soccer with the St. Louis Scott Gallagher club and attended St. Dominic High School.

Ream has been with Charlotte FC since August 2024.

He has been named captain 26 times for the USMNT and was selected for the 2022 FIFA World Cup roster in Qatar.

Ream made his USMNT debut in November 2010.

The U.S.A. will have its first inaugural game on June 12 against Paraguay.
