KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A pair of old Big 12 opponents will meet in a non-conference matchup between the SEC and Big Ten later this year.

On Thursday, Mizzou announced that its men’s basketball program will play Nebraska at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, on Saturday, Dec. 12.

The matchup between the Tigers and Cornhuskers will be the first between the schools in 16 seasons. Still, it’ll be the 220th time Missouri and Nebraska have matched up in men’s basketball.

Mizzou leads the all-time series 126-93 and has a 13-11 record against Nebraska in games played in Kansas City.

The 219 games played between Mizzou and Nebraska makes the Cornhuskers the fourth-most played opponent in Mizzou’s school history.

Both teams are coming off NCAA Tournament berths in 2024-25. Mizzou was a 10 seed and lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Nebraska received a 4 seed and lost in the Sweet 16 to Iowa.

It’s the second game Mizzou will play at the T-Mobile Center next season. The Tigers are scheduled to play Kansas in Kansas City on Sunday, Dec. 6.
