KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Before the final match of its group stage play, the United States men’s national team already has its opponent for the Round of 32.
Thanks to Thursday night’s results, Bosnia and Herzegovina are locked into the matchup with the United States as the third-place opponent that will play against Group D’s winner.
The U.S. won Group D last Friday after defeating Australia 2-0 and seeing Paraguay defeat Turkiye as well.
Back-to-back wins for the United States have been few and far between. The 4-1 win over Paraguay in the U.S. opener and 2-0 victory over Australia were the first time the United States men’s national team has won back-to-back World Cup games since 1930.

The July 1 match between the United States and Bosnia and Herzegovina will kick off at 7 p.m. CT in Santa Clara, California at what Americans know as Levi’s Stadium but what FIFA is calling San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.
Bosnia and Herzegovina advanced to the Round of 32 through Group B. It tied Canada, 1-1, in its opener, lost to Switzerland 4-1 in its second game, and closed group stage play on Wednesday with a 3-1 win over Qatar.
