ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A video from the St. Louis Cardinals is going viral on social media that showed a fan catching a home-run ball from Tuesday’s day game and giving it to a nearby young fan.
First Alert 4 found life-long Cardinals fan Brendan Feldmann, who was at the game with his dad and some friends.
Feldmann said the section they always sit in is a prime spot to catch home-run balls.
“It was a nice big high up home run and I was like oh this is coming right for me. I just put my hat up and my hat is so flimsy it actually smushed through the hat and fell next to my leg. I didn’t actually catch it but I knocked it down. The first thing I thought was just giving it to that little girl,” Feldmann said.
The video has over a million views in just one day. The social media attention shocked Feldmann, who said he was just doing the right thing by giving the ball to the young girl.

“It’s a very simple thing. I think any man like me would do the same thing. That girl was down at the fence asking outfielders for a ball until it happened. It was the first thing that went through my head like oh here you go,” Feldmann said.
11-year-old Haiden Pfeiffer was the young fan he gave the ball to and she already has it in a case.
“I was a little nervous because it looked like it was coming straight at us. It was a little short and then he was walking towards me and he just kind of reached out and gave it to me. I felt so much joy and it was really exciting,” Pfeiffer said.
Pfeiffer said at nearly all the Cardinals games she goes to between innings she goes down to the gate to try to get a ball from a player.
She said getting this ball from a stranger was an indescribable feeling.

“I’m just grateful that out of all the people in the stands I was lucky enough to be the one to get the ball. I just said thank you so many times,” Pfeiffer said.
The Cardinals invited Feldmann’s group back to Busch Stadium with tickets to Fridays game.
“That’s just cardinal nation right there. That’s a great thing to do as a club,” Feldmann said.
The Cardinals also reached out to Pfeiffer’s family as well, after that wholesome moment turned into a viral sensation.
