ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - Jimmy McKinney III sat down one-on-one with Sports on 4’s Tamar Sher after announcing his commitment to stay home and play for the Saint Louis University men’s basketball program.
The 6-foot-2 combo guard is regarded as one of the top prospects in the St. Louis area and will enter his senior season at Vashon High School, where he plays for his father, Jimmy McKinney, a former Vashon and University of Missouri standout.
As a sophomore, McKinney III helped lead Vashon to its fifth consecutive state championship.
McKinney III joins Sheek Pearson and Jamison White as the latest St. Louis standouts to stay home and play for head coach Josh Schertz and the Billikens.
