ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KCTV) - As a steady stream of players made their way down the hill at Missouri Western State University for the final time, a young Chiefs fan hoping for an autograph got a whole lot more than he bargained for.
Nine-year-old Reed Engbroten from Lawson, Missouri, was standing near the railing as Chiefs third-year wide receiver Xavier Worthy made his way toward the practice fields for the final day of training camp.
Veering off to his right, Worthy made contact with Engbroten, giving him more than just the signature he was hoping for.
“A PS5 from Xavier Worthy,” Reed said of what he received.
“He walked over and handed a PS5 to him,” Reed’s father Evan Engbroten told KCTV.

The gift of a gaming console for the young Chiefs fan was a complete surprise.
“I don’t know,” Reed said when asked why he was the lucky recipient. “He just handed me it. I was really excited.”
“Pretty good Thursday morning,” his dad said.
Reed was wearing a gray Patrick Mahomes jersey -- that Worthy signed as well -- which begs the question, is Worthy his favorite player now?
“Top three,” Reed said.

Maybe the gift will move him up Reed’s list -- or certainly his father’s -- after Thursday.
“Thank you,” Evan said. “Hats off to you. Respect.”
