ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - The St. Louis Cardinals announced they have called up catcher Leo Bernal and outfielder Victor Scott II from the Memphis Redbirds.
In addition, catcher Jimmy Crooks has been optioned to the Redbirds.
Bernal has been a consistent offensive presence for the Redbirds.
He is currently slashing .278/.363/.468, with 16 HRs and 77 RBIs.
Jimmy Crooks, on the other hand, has struggled recently in the majors. He is batting .179 with only 15 hits in his last 30 games.

In 219 ABs for the Memphis Redbirds, Scott II is hitting .237 with two HRs and 17 RBIs, while also contributing 23 stolen bases.
The Cards also called up RHP Hancel Rincón, who posts a record of 6-6 with a 4.03 ERA and 90 strikeouts.
Bernal will wear No. 13, and Rincón will wear No. 66.
