TYLER, Texas (KLTV/Gray News) - Patrick Mahomes Sr. is seeking approval to see his son’s NFL games, according to a motion filed Friday in the 7th District Court in Tyler, Texas.
Court records show Mahomes Sr. filed the motion requesting permission to travel out of state to see seven of his son’s football games in Kansas City, Missouri; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mahomes Sr. is the father of the Kansas City Chiefs’ star quarterback Patrick Mahomes Jr. and a former professional baseball player.
The filing states Mahomes Sr. understands he is required to submit urinalysis testing as requested by his supervision officer before and after travel, on each occasion.
The filing also notes Mahomes Sr. completed 160 hours of community service and completed a 16-week outpatient treatment program at Cenikor, a nonprofit that provides substance abuse disorder treatment and behavioral health services.

The motion states a Smith County community supervision officer verified Mahomes Sr.’s compliance with all current probation conditions and that he is continuously monitored via an ankle device.
In July, Mahomes Sr. asked the court to replace his ankle monitor after he said it caused swelling, skin irritation and tissue damage.
Mahomes Sr. remains on probation after a violation extended his probation for an additional two years.
He pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated in 2024 and was sentenced to five years of probation.
He was re-arrested Feb. 3 after he drank alcohol, violating his probation conditions, according to Smith County District Attorney Jacob Putman.
He was also sentenced to 30 days in jail, with credit for time served, making his release the same day, according to court records.
