ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - St. Louis CITY SC is heading on the road to reignite its U.S. Open Cup campaign, facing the Colorado Rapids in the Semi-Final this Wednesday.
After a 4-2 win against Minnesota United last Saturday, St. Louis is now unbeaten in 15 matches across all competitions.
Rafael Navarro continued his impressive introduction with a second straight brace, and Carlo Holse scored a stunning first-touch strike that was nominated for Goal of the Matchday.
Now, the club sets its sights on the U.S. Open Cup.
CITY SC’s last tournament match was against the Houston Dynamo in May, which ended in a 4-2 win on penalties following a 2-2 draw.

Wednesday’s semi-final match against Colorado will be the ninth meeting between the two sides across all competitions, with CITY SC holding a 3-3-2 all-time record. In two match-ups this season, St. Louis came out on top 1-0 in both.
Colorado sits seventh in the Western Conference with 35 points and an 11-12-2 record.
Following Navarro’s departure, Paxten Aaronson now leads Colorado with six goals and six assists in MLS.
The match is set to kick off at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16.
The winner will advance to the U.S. Open Cup Final on Wednesday, October 21.
