KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - After a short but meaningful NFL debut for sixth overall pick Mansoor Delane was ended early due to a shoulder injury, Kansas City got good news to begin Week 2.
Head coach Andy Reid said the Chiefs’ highly picked cornerback will practice Wednesday as the team begins its preparations for Sunday night’s primetime matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.
Reid said Delane has a “pretty good chance” to play against the Colts, despite only playing three snaps against the Broncos due to injury.
Delane’s debut included an interception on his third career snap in the regular season. He intercepted Broncos quarterback Bo Nix on a pass intended for wide receiver Courtland Sutton.

Problems with Delane’s shoulder led him to miss time in OTAs and training camp. For parts of training camp, he also participated in a yellow non-contact jersey, with NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reporting this week that Delane was dealing with a hairline fracture in his scapula.

Delane landed on the shoulder again Monday night when Sutton tackled him from behind on the interception return. Multiple reports said Delane’s X-rays were negative on Tuesday.
In other injury news, Reid said left tackle Josh Simmons (back) and safety Chamarri Conner (knee) will not practice Wednesday after each missed Week 1.
Linebacker Cooper McDonald, who was injured during Monday’s win, was placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury with a designation to return, Reid said.
