ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - Mizzou Football Head Coach Eli Drinkwitz gave an update Tuesday on Johnnie “DJ” Jones, who is currently recovering from heart transplant surgery.
Drinkwitz said DJ’s heart and lungs are working on their own, and he was able to get outside yesterday.
Jones had the surgery earlier in October after Missouri staff detected an issue with his heart over the summer during freshman intake testing.
A GoFundMe has been set up for DJ and his family as he continues to recover.
