ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - St. Louis CITY SC will host LAFC, looking to extend its winning streak to three games with the 2025 season starting to come to a close.

Last time out, CITY picked up another road victory, a 3-1 win against the San Jose Earthquakes, sweeping the 2025 series between the two.

Brendan McSorley scored his first two goals for the club and was part of a group of four St. Louis players to tally assists in the win.

McSorley earned a spot on the MLS Team of the Matchday alongside Marcel Hartel, who scored and assisted a goal.

In 40 regular-season matches for St. Louis, Hartel has tallied 10 goals and 13 assists.

After their most recent win, St. Louis is No. 13 in the Western Conference with 28 points.

The club has gone 2-0-1 through September and will look to finish the month off strong against LAFC, one of the best teams in the Western Conference.

LAFC has historically had St. Louis’s number and was able to steal a draw at home when the two met earlier this season.

“The Black and Gold” are led by two premier goalscorers in Son Heung-min and Denis Bouanga, who have combined for 14 goals in the club’s last five matches. The latter of the two leads LA in scoring with 22 goals.

LAFC is unbeaten in its last five road matches. Meanwhile, St. Louis hasn’t won at home since the beginning of August.

The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. at Energizer Park.
