CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Matrix Midwest) - For the sixth straight year, Illinois Men’s Basketball will be going to the NCAA Tournament.

Illinois is a 3 seed in the South region and will face 14 seed Penn.

The Illini were one of the top teams in the Big 10 all season, with an overall record of 24-8 and a conference record of 15-5. Illinois beat NCAA Tournament teams Texas Tech and Tennessee in non-conference play.

Freshman Keaton Wagler became a star this season, averaging nearly 18 points per game, including a 46 point performance in a win over Purdue.

Illinois will open the tournament in Greenville, South Carolina on Thursday.
