ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Matrix Midwest) - The University of Missouri announced Friday that it has extended Athletic Director Laird Veatch’s contract.
Mizzou says it has given Veatch a three-year extension, starting May 1, 2026.
Veatch began his tenure at Mizzou in May 2024. During his first two years, the Tigers have appeared in two football bowl games, two NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournaments and 20 NCAA team championship events, while celebrating four individual NCAA champions and 38 All-Americans.
“The momentum of Mizzou Athletics is undeniable thanks to the incredible leadership of Athletic Director Veatch,” said University of Missouri President Mun Choi. “We are a powerhouse in the SEC and a source of pride for all Missourians. AD Veatch and his staff’s commitment to excellence and winning championships will continue to drive our programs forward and deliver proven results for our student-athletes and dedicated Tiger fans.”
Mizzou’s Athletic Department has also reportedly increased its total revenue by $14 million to a record $182 million.
“Athletic Director Veatch understands Mizzou’s championship expectations and actively pursues initiatives that improve our athletic programs,” said Curator Bob Blitz, chair of the board’s Mizzou Intercollegiate Athletics Special Committee. “The historic Memorial Stadium Centennial Project is one example among many that proves he is leading Mizzou into a new era of success.”
